“Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve.” – Luke 22:3 (NIV)
Good morning fellow disciples.
Luke 22:3 is a chillingly direct statement about the spiritual battle that played out in Judas’s life. “Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve.” This verse marks a critical point in the narrative, suggesting that Judas, through a series of choices, had opened himself up to demonic influence. It’s a stark reminder that even those who have been close to Jesus and actively involved in ministry are not immune to the power of evil.
As a disciple, you are engaged in a spiritual battle. You may not always be aware of the forces at work, but Satan is actively seeking to deceive, discourage, and destroy you. This verse serves as a warning to guard your heart and mind against temptation, bitterness, and pride, which can create an opening for the enemy to gain a foothold in your life. You are empowered by the Holy Spirit to resist the devil, to stand firm in your faith, and to walk in obedience to God’s Word.
This week, take time to examine your spiritual life. Are there any areas where you may be vulnerable to temptation or where you have allowed bitterness, pride, or other negative influences to take root? Confess any sin to God and ask for His forgiveness and cleansing. Commit to guarding your heart and mind against the attacks of the enemy through prayer, study of the Scriptures, and fellowship with other believers.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I acknowledge the reality of the spiritual battle and my vulnerability to temptation. Forgive me for the times when I have allowed negative influences to take root in my life. Help me to guard my heart and mind against the attacks of the enemy through prayer, study of your Word, and fellowship with other believers. Fill me with your Holy Spirit, so that I may resist the devil and stand firm in my faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
