Day 141: Strengthening the Feeble Knees – The Building Power of Encouragement

Series: The Year of the Prophet- Month 5: The Prophet’s Mandate: To Root Out and To Plant

Week 20: The Architecture of Building (Reconstruction)

Anchor Scripture: Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who are fearful-hearted, ‘Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance… He will come and save you.’” — Isaiah 35:3–4 (NKJV)

The Teaching
As we continue the reconstruction phase, we must look at the “human materials” we are building with. You are not just building structures of truth; you are building People. In the wake of the “Rooting Out” and “Pulling Down” phases (Week 18 & 19), the people are often left feeling “weak-handed” and “feeble-kneed.” They have been shaken by the correction; they have been tired by the warfare. Today, the Prophet’s mandate is to Strengthen.

Prophetic encouragement is not “flattery,” and it isn’t “nice words” to make people feel better about their sins. True prophetic encouragement is a Building Block of Strength. It is a word that “makes firm” the resolve of the saints. When a Prophet speaks to the “fearful-hearted,” they aren’t just saying “Don’t worry”; they are providing a “Behold”—a fresh vision of God’s power and His commitment to save.

To “build and plant” requires laborers who are strong. If the “builders” are terrified or exhausted, the wall will never be finished. The Prophet’s role is to act as a “spiritual coach.” You see the fatigue in the workers and you speak a word that injects “divine adrenaline” back into their spirits. You remind them of the “Why” behind the “What.” You show them the “victory” at the end of the “struggle.” Your voice is the “mortar” that holds the people together.

Prophetic Insight
A Prophet who only knows how to “rebuke” is a Prophet who eventually destroys the building. If you don’t know how to “strengthen the feeble knees,” you will end up with a people who are too terrified to move. Mature prophets understand the Timing of Encouragement. They know when the “pruning” is over and when the “nourishing” must begin. If you see someone “faltering” in their assignment, do not judge their weakness. Instead, use your prophetic sight to see their “potential strength” and call it forth. A single word of “Be Strong” from a prophet carries more weight than a thousand “Good Jobs” from a peer.

The Activation
Identify someone in your sphere who is “weary in well-doing”—a leader, a parent, or a friend who looks “feeble-kneed” under the weight of their responsibility. Today, deliver a “Building Block” to them. Don’t just give a compliment; give a “Prophetic Behold.” Say, “I see what you are carrying, but I see God coming to save you. Be strong; do not fear.” Watch how that word “firms up” their spirit.

Daily Prayer: Lord God, I thank You that You are the Source of all strength. I ask for the grace to be an encourager in Your Kingdom. Forgive me for being a ‘heavy’ prophet who only knows how to point out weakness. Give me Your eyes for the weary. Help me to speak words that make the feeble knees firm and the weak hands strong. Use my voice to build the people who are building Your House. Amen.
