Week 19: Pulling Down Strongholds (Spiritual Warfare)

Anchor Scripture: “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits.” — Matthew 7:15–16 (NKJV)

The Teaching
The final destructive verb in the Jeremiah Mandate is to “destroy.” In the context of spiritual warfare, this does not mean destroying people, but destroying the influence and credibility of “wolves.” A wolf in the sheepfold is not a sheep with a “problem”; it is a predator with a “disguise.”

The Office of the Prophet carries a specific Guardian Mandate. While the Pastor is called to feed the sheep, the Prophet is often called to “smell the wolf.” Because the wolf is wearing “sheep’s clothing”—using religious jargon, mimicking spiritual gifts, and appearing “nice”—the average person in the pews cannot see the danger. They only see the “wool.”

The Prophet, however, is given the “Discerning of Spirits” (Day 108) to see past the disguise. You are the one who senses the “ravenous” nature behind the “religious” mask. You see when a leader is “fleecing” the flock for personal gain or seducing them away from the Truth. Your mandate is to Expose the Wolf. This is an act of spiritual “destruction”—you are destroying the wolf’s ability to hide, thereby protecting the lives of the sheep.

Prophetic Insight
Exposing a wolf is one of the most “offensive” things a prophet can do. Because the wolf has spent a lot of time “looking like a sheep,” people are often attached to them. When you point out the danger, the sheep may actually turn on you. This is why the Prophet needs “Desert Strength” (Day 90). You aren’t exposing the wolf to be “mean” or “divisive”; you are doing it because you see the “slaughter” that is coming if the wolf stays hidden. A true prophet values the Safety of the Flock more than their own Popularity. You are the spiritual “sheepdog” that barks at the danger everyone else is ignoring.

The Activation
Ask the Holy Spirit today for “Guardian Eyes.” Look at the influences you are allowing into your life and your community. Ask: “Lord, is there any ‘sheep’s clothing’ hiding a ravenous heart here?” Don’t look for “mistakes” (which sheep make); look for “predatory fruit” (manipulation, greed, or a hidden agenda). If the Lord shows you a “wolfish” influence, pray for the boldness to distance yourself and, if necessary, to warn others.

Daily Prayer: Lord God, I thank You that You are the Good Shepherd. I accept my mandate as a guardian of Your flock. Give me the discernment to see through every ‘sheep’s clothing.’ Forgive me for being naive or for staying silent while the wolves gathered. I choose to prioritize the safety of Your people over my own reputation. Give me the boldness to expose the danger and to destroy the influence of the enemy in Your House. Amen.
