And Jesus said to them, Have you come out with swords and clubs as [you would] against a robber to capture Me?

Good morning fellow disciples.
1. Jesus must have felt so angry that they would treat Him like a robber. After all, Jesus was one of the most peace-loving persons that they had ever seen or heard. He did challenge them for their hypocrisy but at no point did He advocate violence against them.
How do you feel when people treat you in a condescending manner?
How do you feel when people approach you as if you are the worst person in their eyes?
2. They came at Him in this manner because they did not want Him to escape once again. They knew that Jesus had a way of getting away from them and this time they came with a full show of force.
Has this ever happened to you? You are going about your regular business and all of a sudden you are surrounded by persons who are shouting at you and grabbing you?
3. Jesus knew that they came to capture Him. Many times, before He had escaped their grasp, but this time He was willing to go with them. He was willing to go with them because now was the appointed time for Him to give up His life for our salvation.
Have you ever been running away from something and then you finally reach that place where you decided not to run anymore?
Prayer: Father God, I am submitted and surrendered to Your will for my life. No matter how things may play out in the physical world, I know Your will for me, and I will go along with it. Whether it is easy or hard, peaceful or violent, I will humble myself and do Your will. Amen.
