Conversations at Gethsemane – Part 13

By Andrew Williams – October 15, 2022

Now the betrayer had given them a signal, saying, The One I shall kiss is [the Man]; seize Him and lead [Him] away safely [so as to prevent His escape].
Mark 14:44 AMPC

Good morning fellow disciples.

You may be surrounded by a crowd, you may be among friends, your family members are there, but you may feel totally alone. You may have God’s Holy Spirit with you but in that moment the power that you have to defeat your enemies is unusable. It is unusable because you have surrendered to God, and it is God’s will for the enemy to prevail for a moment.

The enemy has done his homework, he has formulated a plan, he has employed persons to do his will and, his plan is now in action.

Many of us will jump and cry out “in the name of Jesus I rebuke you!” Many of us will think that if we pray, then God will miraculously swoop in and save us. Many of us will think that we can escape easily because we are children of God.

One thing we need to remember is that sometimes God gives the enemy permission to do things to us. This is the situation that we see Jesus in.

Have you ever found yourself in a situation like this, where God has permitted the enemy to test or persecute you?

Fret not!

God is still in control!

You, just be faithful to God and focus on obeying what God tells you to do.

I leave you today with the words of encouragement Jesus gave to Peter: “Simon, Simon, look out! Satan has asked to sift you like wheat. But I HAVE PRAYED FOR YOU that your faith may not fail. And you, WHEN YOU HAVE TURNED BACK, STRENGTHEN YOUR BROTHERS.”
Luke 22:31‭-‬32 HCSB

  1. Another great example from the life of Jesus. He has been tested, tried and tempted so He is aware of our earthly struggles.
As we experience our dark moments let us be aware that we are not alone.
Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.
Hold on Brothers and Sisters never let go of the promises of God.
