And at once, while He was still speaking, Judas came, one of the Twelve [apostles], and with him a crowd of men with swords and clubs, [who came] from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders [of the Sanhedrin]. Mark 14:43 AMPC
Good morning fellow disciples.
It says that while Jesus was speaking Judas came with the crowd from the chief priests, the scribes and the elders. Did Jesus sense them in the Spirit or did He hear them coming physically. It could be that Jesus heard them physically, but the disciples did not because they were all fast asleep.
How many times do you see dangerous things about to happen, but your fellow disciples don’t? Is it because you are the only one praying or is it because you’re the only one paying attention?
Jesus got the answer to His prayer. What He had been asking God to keep from happening was now playing out in front of Him. God’s will was for Jesus to fulfill the task that they had agreed on previously. Judas’ arrival signaled the beginning of that process.
Jesus was ready for what was about to happen. His time spent in prayer with His father gave Him the confirmation that He needed to continue to obediently surrender and submit to His Father’s will.
Prayer: Father God, no matter who the enemy shows up with or how terrifying they may seem, we know that You are with us. We will continue to obey You and be fully submitted to Your will. Amen
