AND AS [Jesus] was coming out of the temple [area], one of His disciples said to Him, Look, Teacher! Notice the sort and quality of these stones and buildings!
Mark 13:1 AMPC
Good morning fellow disciples.
How much pride do you have in your church building? Do you admire its architecture? Do you love its location? Do you love its size? Do you love its décor?
Sometimes when we visit certain churches we find ourselves in awe of their design, the acoustics within the church, and the number of people they can hold. Some church members are so proud of their church building that sometimes they forget that it is the members who are important.
They will spend any amount of money to fix or renovate the building, but they are reluctant to do outreach within the community or to assist church members who are experiencing financial difficulties.
The true church is composed of every disciple of Christ. My fellow disciples, people should be looking at us and say: “Notice the sort and quality of these disciples of Christ!”
My question to us today is this: ” What sort and what quality of disciple are you?”
Prayer: Father God, it is a joy and privilege to meet, fellowship, and worship in Your temple. Lord Jesus, You are the Chief cornerstone of our spiritual Temple. I am honored to be one of the building blocks.
Help me to live my life in a manner that is pleasing to You, Lord God, and help me to be seen by others as truly being one of Your faithful disciples. Help me and my fellow disciples to be so impressive that when people see us alongside you, Lord Jesus, they will be in awe of Your kingdom. Amen.
