And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not get alarmed (troubled and frightened); it is necessary [that these things] take place, but the end is not yet. Mark 13:7 AMPC
Good morning fellow disciples.
We live in a world where every time we hear of wars or rumors of wars we begin to say that Jesus is about to return. But here we see Jesus saying that we should not get alarmed, we should not be troubled, and we should not be frightened when these things happen.
Because of human nature these things will necessarily happen but, the time of the end is not yet. We need to look at Jesus’ word and other prophecies within the Bible to see what truly heralds the end times. {We will not look at that here today.}
What I want us to get from today’s reading is that Jesus gives us the assurance that even in turbulent times we should NOT be alarmed, troubled or, frightened.
What is your natural response when you hear of wars, famines or pandemics?
1. Do you start freaking out?
2. Does fear overwhelm you?
3. Do you start running around sounding the alarm that Jesus is about to return?
4. Do you hide away from the world? Or,
5. Are you calm, because you know that regardless of whether it is time for Jesus to return or not, you have the assurance that you will be with Him for all eternity?
