The Living Gospel (Week 4: Living a Shareable Life)
Opening Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for Your story. May the story we live and the story we tell be a compelling invitation for others to find their own story in You.
Today’s Scripture (NLT)
John 4:39
“Many Samaritans from the village believed in Jesus because the woman had said, ‘He told me everything I ever did!'”
As we conclude our 28-day series, we see the beautiful and powerful result of one person being willing to share their story. The Samaritan woman at the well had a messy past. But after her encounter with Jesus, she didn’t hide in shame. She went back to her village and shared her simple, powerful testimony: “He told me everything I ever did!”
Her story was not a polished sermon; it was a raw, authentic declaration of her personal encounter with Jesus. And what was the result? “Many… believed in Jesus because the woman had said…” Her story was the spark that started a revival. Her personal testimony became a public invitation.
This is the ultimate purpose of uncovering, connecting, and crafting our story. Your living gospel is meant to be an invitation. It’s a way of saying to the world, “The same God who rescued me, who is changing me, who gave me hope, can do the same for you.” Your story, when shared in the power of the Spirit, can create a legacy of other stories of grace, a chain reaction of transformed lives for the glory of God.
Disciples’ Life Tip: Who is one person you can invite into your story this week? Make a plan to have a conversation, share what God has been teaching you through this series, and extend the invitation to them to discover their own story in Jesus.
Closing Prayer: Father, thank You for the power of a single story shared in faith. Take our stories, messy and imperfect as they are, and use them to draw many people to believe in Jesus. May we leave a legacy of stories for Your glory. Amen.
