Matthew 22:29 NLT – Jesus replied, “Your mistake is that you don’t know the Scriptures, and you don’t know the power of God.
Good morning fellow disciples.
Do you spend a lot of time arguing with people over what scripture actually means?
Do you spend a lot of time questioning God about things that really do not matter?
Do you believe that your understanding of Scripture or your approach to God is the only way?
Do you believe that the persons who have taught you, your church, or your family are the ones who know the truth?
If the answer to these questions is yes, then when you meet Jesus, will He say this to you: “Your mistake is that you don’t know the Scriptures, and you don’t know the power of God!”
When we spend a lot of time trying to prove that our way is right, the truth is that we really have not surrendered to the Holy Spirit.
Our lack of surrender means that we will never understand the scriptures and we will not know the power of God, because the Holy Spirit is the one who gives us understanding of Scripture and who gives us the power of God.
Are you ready to correct your mistakes?
Submit to the rule of the Holy Spirit in your life, and gain understanding and power which comes from God.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I have been mistaken. I humble myself before You and ask You to teach me. Let Your Holy Spirit of truth teach me and empower me to be Your faithful disciple. Amen.
