Scripture : “Tell Daughter Zion, “Look, your King is coming to you, gentle, and mounted on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.” Matthew 21:5 HCSB
Observation : This verse tells the Jews how to identify their king. He is “coming to you, gentle, and mounted on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.” So when they saw Jesus coming into Jerusalem in this manner, they should have recognized that He was the coming King that was prophesied about.
Many praised him, some scoffed at him, and some plotted to kill him. Is the coming King a threat to you or is He who you long for with all your heart?
Look your King is coming! Are you actually looking for Him? Will you recognize Him if you see Him? Will you treat Him the way you should treat a king? Will you see Him but won’t accept Him?
Application : I will search the scriptures so that I can identify my Lord and King when He returns.
I will look for Him, but while I await His return I will live my life the way He told me to.
I will worship Him, praise Him and glorify Him.
Prayer : Father God thank You for King Jesus. I haven’t met a real king so I don’t really know how to act around kings. Your word says that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow and that we will all worship Him, so God I will wholeheartedly fall on my knees in worship when I am in His presence.
Help me never to stray out of your kingdom, and may I also bring others into Your kingdom so that we may all worship You together King Jesus. I love You. I love You. I love You, amen.
