‘And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’ Acts 13:22 NKJV
Good morning fellow disciples.
Have you ever wondered why God:
1. Chose to do all that He has done for you?
2. Anointed and appointed you to your current post?
3. Gave you that calling for your life?
4. Loves you so much?
5. Keeps forgiving you every time you sin?
6. Keeps using you to reach other person’s even though your life is far from perfect in His sight?
7. Chooses to have His Holy Spirit live in you even though you sin daily?
There are so many other things that we could mention but when we ponder these questions and we recognize our deficiencies, we may all ask: Why me?
Why me God? Why me? I wonder if king David wondered about this. Did he ask God? When king Saul was continually disobedient to God this is what the prophet Samuel said to him:
“But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.” I Samuel 13:14 NKJV
We know that king David sinned many times against God, but still in Acts 13:22 he is portrayed as one who is after God’s own heart and would do all His will. David was not perfect, I am not, and neither are you. Like king David I desire to know God and to serve Him with all my heart. Do you desire this also.
Like David, when I sin I repent and draw even closer to God. Do you do this too?
Like David I trust God even when the situation seems impossible to surmount. Do you do this too?
Like David I obey God when He directs me to do things that seems stupid. Do you do this too?
Like David, I don’t care what people think about me when I am serving and worshipping God. Do you act this way too?
My fellow disciples, as long as you are continuously surrendering and submitting to God, obeying and serving Him, then you are a disciple after God’s own heart. That’s why He has chosen you! Now you know the answer to the question: “Why me?”
“The Lord has sought for Himself a man after His own heart.” ‘I have found (insert your name here), a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’
I believe this is what God is saying about you. Keep on doing God’s will!
Prayer: Father God, sometimes I wonder “why me?” But having looked at this passage I realize that it’s not about me being perfect, it’s about me being obedient to You. There are times when I have not obeyed You but then I come back around and I do. As I look back at my life I realize that I keep on doing the things that You require of me.
I surrender to You more each day, I submit to Your will, I am obeying You, my desire is to do Your will and to serve wherever You send me. When I make mistakes or I sin I repent, and then proceed to do the right thing. Father God, thank You for using me even when I’m not perfect. I will keep on doing Your will so that I can draw closer to You, and show persons how to live for You.
Thank You for choosing me! Amen.
Hallelujah! Thank GOD.
