Observation: The people of the church in Thessalonica belonged to “God our Father and to the Lord Jesus Christ”. The church everywhere belongs to the Lord Jesus Christ, and God the Father. As long as you’re a Christian you belong to the family of God. Let no one deceive you and tell you that you belong to one specific denomination, to Christ alone or anything other than is stated here.
FATHER is our God! Christ is our Head! All believers are the bride of Christ, and we honor FATHER and SON by submitting to their lordship over us.
Application: I belong to the family of God and therefore I will seek to fellowship with all Christians, and teach everyone that they belong to God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Prayer: Father God, teach us all who we truly belong to. ….to You and Jesus. Help us to fellowship with one another in unity, putting aside denominational and theological divisions. We belong to You and we pledge to serve You in Spirit and In Truth and we will live our lives loving You and all people. Amen.
