Water, I Need Water !

By Andrew Williams – July 26,2021

“God, You are my God; I eagerly seek You. I thirst for You; my body faints for You in a land that is dry, desolate, and without water.” Psalms 63:1 HCSB

Good morning fellow disciples.

Have you ever been so thirsty that you’re about to faint? Have you ever ran a race in sweltering heat and was unable to stop to get water and at the end you collapse? If you have then you know what it’s like to be thirsty. But what if you are really thirsty and can’t find water ? Wouldn’t you then seek to get some water with all the strength that you can muster up?

David wrote the Psalm when he was wandering in the wilderness. He used his thirst to look at his desire for relationship with God. David knew what it was like to be in a dry parched place without access to water. God is to be desired more than water itself. Sometimes we say that without water we cannot sustain life, but it is more accurate to say that without God our lives mean nothing.

Are you in a place today where you desire God more than anything else? Do you seek Him with all that you have? Are you thirsting for Him like that last drop of water that could save your life? Are you at the place where you feel as if you would die, or faint, or collapse, or lose consciousness if you don’t have Him?

Prayer : God, You are my God; I eagerly seek You. I thirst for You; my body faints for You in a land that is dry, desolate, and without water. Satisfy my thirst I pray, and take me out of this dry and desolate land so that I can be with You forever. This I ask in Jesus’ name, amen.
