But if we hope for what we do not yet see, we wait for it patiently.
Romans 8:25 BSB
Good morning, fellow disciples.
Wait is defined as: “to remain stationary in readiness or expectation.”
As a child I remember walking home from school while being hungry. It was my hope that dinner would be ready when I reached home, and I could have a sumptuous meal. Sometimes I remember asking my mother what would be for dinner before I left for school. Sometimes what she said would be for dinner was the thing that I really enjoyed eating.
All day long I hoped that the dinner would be mouthwatering. I hoped for it. I didn’t see it. At some points throughout the day, I waited patiently, but as it neared dinner time my patience began to wane.
Are you a faith filled disciple?
Do you hope for what you do not yet see?
Are you waiting patiently for it to materialize?
Almighty God is true to His words. We can trust Him. We should have faith in Him. We should rely on Him. Let us be patient while we wait on our Almighty God who promises us things that we cannot see?
It is a test of our faith for us to wait patiently on what we do not see.
Are you passing that test?
Prayer: Father God, thank You for teaching me the patience to wait on You. There are so many things that I do not see, but it is my hope and my desire that they will be materialized soon. Even if that doesn’t happen in short order, I will continue to wait patiently on You, my God.
For where I’m falling short my God, please teach me to wait patiently on You. Amen.
