Then the Lord answered me: “Write down this vision and clearly inscribe it on tablets, so that a herald may run with it. For the vision awaits an appointed time; it testifies of the end and does not lie. Though it lingers, wait for it, since it will surely come and will not delay.
Habakkuk 2:2-3 BSB
Good morning, fellow disciples.
Wait is defined as: “to remain stationary in readiness or expectation.”
Some of the things that God reveals to us will not come to pass immediately. There is always an appointed time for God’s word to be fulfilled.
In this passage, Habakkuk was told to write down the prophecy that God had given him. He was then told to send it with a messenger to the appointed people and was told that the prophecy would not be fulfilled until a later time.
God then says that we should wait for the fulfillment of that prophecy. At the appointed time it will not linger, it will surely come to pass.
What has God revealed to you that you’re currently waiting on be fulfilled?
Are you waiting expectantly?
Are you sure that it is going to come to pass?
If God says it will, it will come to pass!
Trust Him! Trust His word!
Prayer: Father God, I believe in Your word. I know that at the appointed time they will come to pass. I am waiting on it! Amen
