“For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, whom we proclaimed among you, Silvanus [Silas] and Timothy and I, was not Yes and No, but in him it is always Yes.” – 2 Corinthians 1:19 (ESV)
Good morning fellow disciples.
2 Corinthians 1:19 offers a retrospective affirmation of Silas’ central role in proclaiming the Gospel alongside Paul and Timothy. Writing to the Corinthians, Paul reflects on their shared ministry, emphasizing the consistent and unwavering message they preached: “the Son of God, Jesus Christ…was not Yes and No, but in him it is always Yes.” This passage underscores the importance of proclaiming a clear, consistent, and unwavering message of hope, grace, and truth and being able to trust in God.
As a disciple, you are called to share the Gospel with clarity, conviction, and unwavering commitment to the truth. Silas’ example reminds you that your message should be rooted in the unchanging character of Christ and that you should always proclaim His promises with confidence and assurance. You are empowered to be a voice of truth, a beacon of hope, and a messenger of God’s unwavering love to a world that is searching for answers.
This week, reflect on the message you are communicating through your words, your actions, and your life. Is your message clear, consistent, and unwavering? Are you pointing others to the unchanging truth of Jesus Christ? Commit to speaking the truth in love and to living a life that reflects the hope, grace, and power of the Gospel.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to be a faithful and unwavering messenger of your truth. Fill me with your Holy Spirit, so that I may speak with clarity, conviction, and love. May my life be a testament to the unchanging character of Jesus Christ and may I lead others to discover the joy of knowing Him. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
