Until He Returns: Living in Hope of Final Victory

September 28, 2025

By Andrew Williams

Opening Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank you for the promise of Your return. Fill our hearts with unshakable hope as we await the final day of victory.

Today’s Scripture: Revelation 21:3-4(NLT)
“I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, ‘Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.'”

We have spent a month in the trenches, learning to define the battle, identify our enemies, and put on the armor. But as we conclude this series, we must lift our eyes from the battlefield to the horizon. We fight not just because the war is won, but because the end of the story is guaranteed.

The ultimate reason we endure, we stand firm, and we keep putting on the armor is because of the “blessed hope”—the return of Jesus Christ. The final victory is not just our escape from this world; it is the total eradication of every enemy we have discussed this month.

Read the picture painted in Revelation: No more tears. That means the sorrow caused by the world’s pain is gone. No more death or sorrow or crying or pain. The power of the devil is utterly extinguished. All these things are gone forever. The influence of the flesh and the world system is finished. Our life on earth is a temporary fight toward a guaranteed, permanent peace. This knowledge fuels our endurance. We are living toward a day when spiritual warfare ceases forever.

Disciple’s Life Tip:
Today, take a moment to meditate on the promise in Revelation 21. When you feel overwhelmed by a current struggle, remind yourself: “This is temporary. The King is coming, and He will wipe away this very tear and make all things new.”

Closing Prayer:
Go into the world with confidence and peace. The King is coming, the victory is certain, and the final reward awaits you. Press on, Warrior! Amen.
