“…and they [the disciples in Antioch] sent it [famine relief] to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.” – Acts 11:30 (ESV)
Good morning fellow disciples.
Acts 11:30 highlights the trust and confidence that the church in Antioch placed in Barnabas and Saul. They were entrusted with the responsibility of delivering a significant financial gift to the elders in Judea, intended to provide relief during a predicted famine. This act demonstrates Barnabas’ reputation for integrity, reliability, and faithful stewardship. It also reveals the interconnectedness and mutual support within the early church.
As a disciple, you are called to be a faithful steward of the resources that God has entrusted to you – your time, your talents, your finances, and your influence. Barnabas’ example reminds you that integrity and trustworthiness are essential qualities for effective leadership and service. You are empowered to handle resources with care, to use them wisely, and to be accountable in your stewardship.
This week, examine your stewardship in different areas of your life. Are you using your time wisely? Are you investing your talents in ways that honor God? Are you managing your finances with integrity and generosity? Identify one area where you can improve your stewardship and commit to making a change.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to be a faithful steward of the resources that you have entrusted to me. Give me the wisdom to use my time, my talents, my finances, and my influence in ways that honor you and bless others. Keep me accountable and help me to live with integrity in all that I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
