“Sopater the Berean, son of Pyrrhus, accompanied him; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy; and the Asians, Tychicus and Trophimus.” – Acts 20:4 (ESV)

Good morning fellow disciples.

Acts 20:4 places Timothy among a select group of individuals chosen to accompany Paul on a significant journey to Jerusalem. The purpose of this journey was to deliver a financial offering from the Gentile churches to the believers in Jerusalem. Timothy was an incredible helper.

As a disciple, you may be called to serve in different capacities, depending on your gifts, your calling, and the needs of the moment. Timothy’s example reminds you to be willing to be a supportive presence, a trusted companion, and a faithful servant, whatever role you are asked to play.

This week, consider how you can support and encourage those who are leading in your church, in your community, or in your family. Offer your help, your prayers, and your practical assistance. Be a reliable presence, a trustworthy companion, and a source of encouragement to those who are carrying a heavy burden.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to be a faithful and supportive member of your body, willing to serve in whatever capacity you call me to. Give me a heart for encouragement and a desire to lift up those who are leading. May my life be a reflection of your love, your grace, and your unwavering faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
