Think Deeply

By Andrew Williams – March 7, 2021

Scripture: The scribes and the Pharisees began to consider and question [the implications of what He had said], saying, “Who is this man who speaks blasphemies [by claiming the rights and prerogatives of God]? Who can forgive sins [that is, remove guilt nullify sin’s penalty, and assign righteousness] except God alone?”
Luke 5:21 AMP

Observation: The scribes and the Pharisees began to consider and question [the implications of what He had said]. How many times do we read Scripture, listen to sermons, or hear from God BUT  we don’t really think deeply on what we have heard or read? How many times do we just gloss over scripture? How many times do we miss what God is trying to say to us, because we only remain superficial in our thinking?

We need to get understanding and wisdom from the words of God! We need to see what God’s Word is actually saying and what He is saying to us through His Word. We can achieve this by spending quality time focused on what we read, discussing the passages with other disciples and, asking the Holy Spirit to reveal to us what God is saying.

Application: As disciples of Christ we need to gain understanding and wisdom from His Words. We need to think deeply / consider His words and apply them to our lives.

Prayer: Father God give me knowledge, understanding, and wisdom from Your Word and from Your Holy Spirit. As You lead and guide me, allow me to live my life according to Your Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit . Help me to stop being superficial and bring me into the depths of Your knowledge, in Jesus’ Name I pray, amen.
