Then he began to speak to them. “The Scripture you’ve just heard has been fulfilled this very day!”
Luke 4:21 NLT
Good morning fellow disciples.
WORD is defined as the expressed or manifested mind and will of God.
In the Old Testament, God sent many prophets with His WORD. Some of their prophecies were fulfilled near the time they were uttered, but some were not. For many centuries the Jews read these scriptures hoping for these prophecies to be fulfilled. On this day Jesus read one of these prophecies.
The scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where this was written: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come. ”
Luke 4:17-19 NLT
Every expressed will of God in Scripture will be fulfilled. Jesus knew that this prophecy was about Him, and He revealed to those He was reading to that this prophecy was NOW being fulfilled. We know from Jesus’ life that He fulfilled this in His ministry.
My fellow disciples, God’s WORD will always be fulfilled.
What is God’s WORD to you today?
Trust Him.
He will fulfill His WORD to you.
Prayer: Father God, I have seen Your WORD fulfilled in scripture. I have seen Your personal Word to me fulfilled. I await fulfillment of new Words and past Words to me, from You.
I trust You implicitly, God. Your WORD will be fulfilled. Amen.
