The Use of God’s WORD

By Andrew Williams

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
2 Timothy 3:16 NLT

Good morning fellow disciples.

WORD is defined as the expressed or manifested mind and will of God.

Scripture: the books of either the Old Testament or the New Testament or of both: the Bible.

The Bible is therefore the written WORD of God which contains God’s message of salvation for humanity. We study and interpret the Bible to learn about God’s nature, His plan for humanity, and how to live according to His will.

This verse tells us that all Scripture is given by God. God’s WORD is useful to teach us what is right and what is wrong. Not only does it teach us what is right and wrong, it also corrects us when we are wrong, and shows us what to do.

How do you use God’s WORD?

Do you use God’s WORD to show persons God’s expressed will for their lives?

Do you use God’s WORD to show how God has manifested His will in the lives of others?

Do you use God’s WORD to teach others how to live the life that God has ordained for them?

Do you use God’s WORD to teach persons right from wrong?

The expressed or manifested mind and will of God is all that we need to know who we are and how to live.

Are you using His WORD wisely?

Prayer: Father God, help us to use Your WORD wisely. Give us understanding of Your expressed and manifested mind and will, so that we can help others to live the lives that You have ordained for them.

Help us to live according to Your WORD. Help us to use Your Holy Scriptures to become better persons. Help us to be effective disciples who preach, teach, and live according to Your WORD. Amen.
