Series: The Living Gospel (Week 1: Uncovering Your Narrative)

Opening Prayer
Father, thank you for the moment Your kindness and love broke through into our lives. Help us to never forget the wonder of that grace.

Today’s Scripture (NLT)
Titus 3:4-5a
“But—’When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mer
cy.’

Every good story has a turning point—a moment where everything changes. In our faith story, that turning point is our encounter with the grace of God. Paul highlights the incredible contrast. The verse begins with “But—,” a word that signals a dramatic shift. We were lost, but then God showed up.

Notice what prompted our salvation: God revealed “his kindness and love.” It was an initiative of pure grace. And the basis of our salvation is made crystal clear: it was “not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.” Our turning point was not an achievement we earned; it was a gift we received.

For some, this turning point was a dramatic, single moment. For others, it was a slow dawning of truth over a season. It doesn’t matter how it happened. What matters is that you remember it. Remembering the moment or season when God’s mercy became real to you is the central plot point of your testimony. It is the hinge upon which your entire life story turns.

Disciples’ Life Tip: When and how did you encounter God’s grace? Can you pinpoint a specific moment, a conversation, a service, or a season? Take a moment to thank God specifically for that turning point in your life.

Closing Prayer: Father God, I am so thankful for the “But—” in my story. Thank You for interrupting my life with Your kindness, love, and mercy. I am forever changed because of it. Amen.
