Then Pilate said to them, “Why? What has He done wrong? ” But they shouted, “Crucify Him! ” all the more. Then, willing to gratify the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. And after having Jesus flogged, he handed Him over to be crucified.
Mark 15:14-15 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
Sometimes when we are faced with making a decision we are bombarded by the voices of overly emotional persons. These emotional persons can influence us to make decisions that we should not.
Sometimes we are faced with a mob, and in order to secure the lives of many or to preserve our lives and livelihoods, we condemn innocent persons.
Some of us are just consummate men pleasers. We are politicians who will do anything to keep the crowd happy. Some of us are so scared of confrontation that we willingly give persons anything they want during those times.
Pilate was willing to gratify the crowd. He did what they wanted even though he knew that their purpose for bringing Jesus to him was out of envy. He had Jesus flogged and handed Him over to be crucified.
That is so unfair! It nuh right at all!
Prayer: Father God, we know that without Jesus’ death and resurrection we would not be saved. Even though this series of events shows how unfair they were to Jesus, we know that Jesus did what was necessary to redeem us. Thank You Father God, thank You Lord Jesus for doing all that was necessary to save us.
Thank You for enduring and receiving all the punishment that we deserve so that we can be saved, healed, and delivered from the captivity of the enemy.
We honor You and glorify You with our lives. We accept the gift of salvation and we will live our lives in complete dependence to You. Amen
Before we make decisions, ask this question ” what would Jesus do?
