The Life of an Intercessor

By Andrew Williams

Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
Ephesians 6:18 NLT

Good morning fellow disciples.

Do you want to be an intercessor?

Are you an intercessor?

This is what your life should entail:

1. You need to pray in the Spirit at all times,

2. You need to pray in the Spirit on every occasion,

3. You need to stay alert, and

4. You need to be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

Are you doing these things consistently?

Intercede: to intervene between parties with a view to reconciling differences; to mediate; to plead on someone else’s behalf; or to intervene on behalf of another.

I love how Di Jamiekan Nyuu Testiment renders this verse:
An evritaim unu a prie, mek di Uoli Spirit liid unu. An no mata wa, no tap aks Gad fi elp unu an aal a im piipl iina evriting. Nou dat unu nuo aal a dem sitn ya, wach out an kip unu yai dem waid uopm aal di taim.
Ifiijan 6:18 JNT

It is a joy and a privilege to intercede on behalf of others. We should ALWAYS be led by God’s Holy Spirit when we pray. We need God’s help not only to pray, but we need to request His help in our lives. As intercessors we need to be alert and watchful in prayer.

The enemy will not be pleased with us if we faithfully intercede on behalf of others, but our God stands with us. We can never go wrong as long as we follow the Holy Spirit’s leading every time.

Prayer: Father God, empower us to live the lives of intercessors. We will pray at all times in the Holy Spirit, and at every occasion! We will be alert, and we will be persistent in our prayers for all believers everywhere! Amen.
