And those who passed by kept reviling Him and reproaching Him abusively in harsh and insolent language, wagging their heads and saying, Aha! You Who would destroy the temple and build it in three days, Now rescue Yourself [from death], coming down from the cross!
Mark 15:29-30 AMPC
Good morning fellow disciples.
Did all these people despise and revile Jesus prior to Him being convicted and crucified?
We know that some persons loved Jesus, some were lukewarm towards Him, and the rest hated Him. In this verse we see the ones who despised Him. They were downright unkind to Him!
They finally felt as if they had the upper hand! They showed Him no compassion!
I wonder if some of these persons were just swept away by the emotional nature of the crucifixions.
My fellow disciples, your enemies won’t take it easy on you when they gain the upper hand. When you are being persecuted, don’t expect it to stop soon. However, remember that Holy Spirit is with you always.
Prayer: Father God, I know why Jesus had to suffer, but it’s hard to think about the suffering that He underwent! It Nuh pretty God! It Nuh nice!
But, I am grateful, so grateful for Jesus’ obedience! Amen.
Amen.
Obedient unto death.
Thank you Jesus.
