And the curtain [of the Holy of Holies] of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. And when the centurion who stood facing Him saw Him expire this way, he said, Really, this Man was God's Son!
Mark 15:38-39 AMPC
Good morning fellow disciples.
Let us begin with the latter part of this verse. The centurion who probably had seen many persons crucified in his time being in charge realized that there was something different about Jesus. He was facing Jesus when Jesus died. He was there from the beginning, and he was there at the end. His understanding of crucifixions and the way that people died made him a good person to make this statement: “Really, this Man was God’s Son!”
I wonder, did he only recognize Jesus as God’s Son, or did he go on to accept Jesus as his Lord and savior?
I wonder, do you only recognize Jesus as God’s Son, or do you take the further step to accept Him as your Lord, Savior, and King?
“And the curtain [of the Holy of Holies] of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.”
I believe the silent conversation here is God speaking to us all, saying that:
” There’s no more barrier between Me and you. This religious system where only few persons can enter My presence has now come to an end!
No more need for this barrier between us!
Mi a tear up dis barrier! “
Prayer: Father God, thank You for removing the barrier that separated us. Amen.
