The Final Hours -The Nonverbal Conversations Part 11

By Andrew Williams

Let the Christ (the Messiah), the King of Israel, come down now from the cross, that we may see [it] and trust in and rely on Him and adhere to Him! Those who were crucified with Him also reviled and reproached Him [speaking abusively, harshly, and insolently].
Mark 15:32 AMPC
The Final Hours -The Nonverbal Conversations Part 11

Good morning fellow disciples.

The religious people continued to ridicule and mock Jesus. Many of them would have probably seen or heard of the miracles that Jesus did. Some of them never did, but regardless of the situation they were now asking Jesus to do something miraculous to prove that He was the Messiah and the king of the Jews.

It’s human nature to want to see proof of something before they will believe or accept what you say as truth. It is sad that this is also true of religious persons. Many Christians will not believe something unless they see the proof.

What sort of person are you, are you a person of faith or a person who needs to see the proof before you believe?

We see also that the persons who were crucified with Jesus did not take pity on Him. There was nowhere that Jesus could turn for comfort. All the persons around Him were abusing Him. Those who loved Him were either far away or had abandoned Him.

Have you ever been in a situation where you felt totally abandoned and totally persecuted at the same time?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for taking all of this punishment and harsh treatment for me. Even when I have experienced some of these I don’t think it compares to the severity of what You felt. Thank You for taking my punishment. Thank You for paying the price for me to be set free. I love You and I will forever serve You. Amen.
