The Evidence of Change- How Has He Transformed You?

Series: The Living Gospel (Week 1: Uncovering Your Narrative)

Opening Prayer
Lord, open our eyes to see the real, tangible changes You have made in us. Thank You for the miracle of a new life.

Today’s Scripture (NLT)
2 Corinthians 5:17
“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”

After the turning point comes the transformation. Your story doesn’t end with your salvation; that’s where the new story begins. This verse declares that in Christ, you are not just a polished-up version of your old self. You have become a “new person.” The very core of your identity has been changed.

This newness is not just a feeling; it produces real, observable evidence. This is the “after” picture of your testimony. The transformation might be dramatic, like freedom from an addiction. Or it might be more subtle, like a gradual shift from anxiety to peace, from selfishness to generosity, or from bitterness to forgiveness.

The power of your story is in the contrast between who you were and who you are becoming in Christ. When you can point to specific ways your desires, your attitudes, and your actions have changed, you are providing tangible proof that Jesus is alive and at work. This transformation is the living, breathing evidence of the Gospel.

Disciples’ Life Tip: Create a “before and after” list. On one side, list an old attitude or behavior (e.g., “I was constantly worried about the future”). On the other side, write down the new reality in Christ (e.g., “Now, I have a deep sense of God’s peace and control”). Identify 2-3 of these contrasts.

Closing Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for not leaving me as I was. I praise You for the evidence of Your transforming power in my life. Continue Your good work in me. Amen.
