The Approaching Bridge- Andrew’s Intermediary Role

April 14, 2025

Philip went to tell Andrew; then Andrew and Philip told Jesus. ” – John 12:22 (NLT)

Good morning fellow disciples.

John 12:22 offers a brief but insightful glimpse into Andrew’s role as an intermediary. When some Greeks sought an audience with Jesus, Philip, unsure how to proceed, went to Andrew. Together, Andrew and Philip brought the Greeks’ request to Jesus. This reveals Andrew as a trusted figure, someone to whom others turned when needing access to Jesus. He served as a bridge, connecting those on the periphery to the center of faith.

As a disciple, you may not always be the one in the spotlight, but you can be a vital link between others and Christ. Like Andrew, you are empowered to be an approachable, trustworthy presence, someone others feel comfortable confiding in and seeking guidance from. You can be a bridge, connecting those who are seeking or have questions to the source of all wisdom and truth. Don’t underestimate the power of being a connector; your willingness to listen, guide, and facilitate access to Jesus can have an eternal impact.

This week, be aware of those around you who may be seeking spiritual guidance or connection. Make yourself available to listen, offer support, and point them toward Jesus.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, make me an approachable and trustworthy presence in the lives of those around me. Help me to be a bridge, connecting those who are seeking to the source of all wisdom and truth. Empower me to listen, guide, and facilitate access to Jesus, so that others may encounter your love and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
