Series: He Is (Week 4: The Ultimate Revelation in Christ)
Opening Prayer
Jesus, our Beginning and our End, You are our everything. We worship You as the sovereign Lord of all history and the center of our lives.
Today’s Scripture (NLT)
Revelation 22:13
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”
At the very end of the Bible, as our 28-day journey concludes, Jesus reveals Himself with a title of ultimate, all-encompassing sovereignty: The Alpha and the Omega. Alpha and Omega are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. It’s like saying, “I am the A and the Z.”
This name reveals Jesus’s eternal and sovereign nature. He is “The Beginning”—He was there before all things, and all things were created through Him. He is “The End”—He is the goal and culmination of all of history. Everything started with Him, and everything finds its ultimate purpose and conclusion in Him. He is the author, the main character, and the final word of the entire story.
To know Jesus as the Alpha and Omega is to find our ultimate security and purpose. Our past is in His hands, our present is defined by Him, and our future is secure in Him. He is not just a part of our story; He is the beginning, the end, and everything in between. All the names of God we have studied find their perfect expression and fulfillment in Him. He Is.
Disciple’s Life Tip: Interact with Jesus as your Alpha and Omega. Surrender your past, your present, and your future to Him. In prayer, say, “Jesus, you are my Alpha, the beginning of my faith. You are my Omega, my future hope. Be the center of my ‘in between’ today.”
Closing Prayer: Jesus, our Alpha and Omega, our First and our Last, we worship You. You are sovereign over all. Our lives begin and end in You. To You be all the glory, now and forever. Amen.
