Scripture : My heart says this about You, “You are to seek My face.” Lord , I will seek Your face. Psalms 27:8 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
There is this saying that states, “If you talk to yourself it’s the first sign of madness”. Well, the psalmist is speaking to himself and I do not think that he is crazy. It’s the content of the conversation that determines ones state of sanity.
Here the psalmist is having an internal conversation about God. His heart says this about God, “You are to seek my face”. The heart is defined as : one’s innermost character, feelings, or inclinations. David’s heart, soul, mind, and his emotions are telling him to seek the Lord. This is happening on the inside.
Then he responds with his mouth, “Lord , I will seek Your face.” From something that is birthed internally comes an audible response. Do you talk to yourself about the Lord, and then you respond? You should ! Sometimes we have to “encourage ourselves”, so that we will make the correct choices.
Prayer : Father God, I will remind myself of who You Are! I will speak to myself on the inside: in my heart, in my mind, in my soul, in my spirit, and then I will respond with my mouth and my actions. You are my God, You are my comforter, You are my source of everything, You are my counselor, You are my savior, You are my defender, oh my God You are so many things to me. I will continue to speak to myself about You so that our fellowship and relationship will continue to blossom. Thank You for giving me a heart that can speak to my mind so that my body will respond in the appropriate manner. Amen.
Amen.
