“They confronted me in the day of my distress, but the Lord was my support.” Psalms 18:18 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
Have you ever been in the place where you are surrounded by everything that you just can’t seem to get away from? There’s no way of escape in your mind, and you will not survive. Add to that, you are confronted by your enemies at this lowest point in your life. What do you do?
For many of us we tend to respond in ways that are unhealthy: we try to hide from the situation, we lash out at people, we try to do things in our own power even though we know that it won’t work, or we just fall into depression and give up. But in this verse we see that the Lord was David’s support.
Do you look to the Lord for support when you are in need? Support means “to keep from fainting, yielding, or losing courage”. Do you believe that God can do this for you? Can God keep you from fainting, from yielding, or losing courage?
Yes He can! When you are in distress, take your focus off your problems and redirect your focus to God. When you do this He will become your support. With God supporting you and with you focused on Him, you will soon get through your problems.
Prayer : Father God thank You for being my support, thank You for keeping me from fainting when I am so stressed, thank You for keeping me from yielding to the enemy when he tempts me and attacks me, and thank You for letting me not lose courage when I feel distraught. I can’t do it without You lord so from today onwards I will look to You to support me day by day. I need You to survive and to be victorious. Amen.
