“Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed amazing miracles and signs among the people.” – Acts 6:8 (NLT)
Good morning fellow disciples.
Acts 6:8 introduces us to Stephen, not merely as a chosen servant of the early church, but as a dynamic force of God’s presence. The verse highlights two critical aspects of his character: he was “full of God’s grace and power.” This wasn’t just a passive state; it actively manifested in “amazing miracles and signs.” Stephen’s life demonstrates that when we are filled with God’s grace, we become conduits of His power, and His extraordinary can break into the ordinary circumstances of life. His miracles and signs served as undeniable evidence of God’s presence and truth, drawing attention and sparking both belief and opposition. Stephen operated under the authority of the Holy Spirit, bringing divine encounters to those around him.
Like Stephen, you are called to be a vessel of God’s grace and power. You may not perform miracles in the same way, but the same Spirit that empowered Stephen dwells in you. Embrace the truth that God’s grace is sufficient for you, and it’s through this grace that you are equipped to make a difference in your sphere of influence. God’s power isn’t limited to grand gestures; it’s also evident in acts of kindness, words of encouragement, and unwavering faith in the face of adversity. You are empowered to demonstrate God’s love, speak truth, and live a life that points others to Him. Step into the fullness of the Spirit and watch how God uses you in amazing ways.
Often, the worries and distractions of life cloud our vision and hinder our ability to see the opportunities God places before us. This week, I encourage you to actively seek God’s grace and power. Pray for a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit. Ask God to reveal where He wants you to be a vessel of His love and power. Take a step of faith, trusting that He will work through you. Be intentional about redirecting your focus from your limitations to God’s limitless power. Look for opportunities to perform ‘amazing miracles and signs’ through simple acts of faith and obedience. Let your life be a testimony to His grace.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of Stephen, a man who was so full of Your grace and power. I ask for that same grace and power to fill me. Forgive me for the times I’ve doubted my ability to be a vessel for You. I surrender my fears and insecurities, and I ask You to use me in amazing ways. Help me to see the opportunities You place before me and to step out in faith, trusting in Your strength and not my own. I commit to being a faithful disciple, reflecting Your love and truth to the world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
