Acts of the Apostles 7:55 NLT -But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed steadily into heaven and saw the glory of God, and he saw Jesus standing in the place of honor at God’s right hand.
Good morning fellow disciples.
We first met Stephen when he was introduced as one of the seven deacons. The next story that is recorded in Acts is about Stephen. Acts 8:8 –Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed amazing miracles and signs among the people.
Because of God’s Holy Spirit in him, Stephen was a powerful preacher, a wise debater, he performed signs and miracles among the people, and he was able to see in the Spirit.
Stephen was being used marvelously by God to advance the Kingdom of God. Because of the threat that Stephen posed to the established Jewish religion, he ended up being stoned to death. Stephen was fearless, and even in the face of death he proclaimed boldly that he saw Jesus standing in the place of honor, at God’s right hand.
From Stephen’s story, we see that anyone who is filled with God’s Holy Spirit and who steps out in God’ s power and authority can do marvelous things for God’s Kingdom.
Fellow disciple filled with the Holy Spirit, are you living like Stephen did?
Prayer: Father God help me to be like Stephen, who fearlessly, boldly, and wisely proclaimed Your Gospel with signs and wonders following. Amen.
