“For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. “
I Corinthians 2:11 NKJV
Good morning fellow disciples.
As we see in this verse, it is the spirit that that is in a person that knows about the things pertaining to that person. Only the spirit of a man knows about that man’s thoughts and inclinations. Likewise, only the Spirit of God knows and understands God’s thoughts and secrets.
“After all, who can really see into a person’s heart and know his hidden impulses except for that person’s spirit? So it is with God. His thoughts and secrets are only fully understood by his Spirit, the Spirit of God. ” 1 Corinthians 2:11 TPT
What a joy it is to have the Spirit of God within us! Only the Holy Spirit can interpret the thoughts and the secrets of God’s word properly to us. Now we see why even though many persons have access to the Bible, read the Bible, spend time listening to sermons, spend their whole lives in the church, and still don’t understand or know God.
They don’t understand Him because they do not have His Spirit with them. And even for those who have His Spirit within them, they also sometimes do not understand because they are not listening to the Spirit of God. They relegate Him to someone who they think will just give them gifts. They don’t see Him as a person, as the person, who can show them the mind of God.
Do you want spiritual knowledge from God? Then, you need to surrender and submit to Him and make Him Lord of your life and listen to Him when He speaks.
Prayer: Father God, thank You for placing Your Holy Spirit within me. Thank You for allowing me to know Your thoughts and to know Your intentions and to know Your heart. Through Your Holy Spirit, I have access to You, and through Your Holy Spirit, I can come to know You in ways that are only possible through fellowship with Him.
Holy Spirit, teach my spirit how to surrender to God and how to live for Him. This I pray in Jesus’ name, amen.
