Sow and Harvest

By Andrew Williams – September 3, 2021

“Those who sow their tears as seeds will reap a harvest with joyful shouts of glee. They may weep as they go out carrying their seed to sow, but they will return with joyful laughter and shouting with gladness as they bring back armloads of blessing and a harvest overflowing!” Psalms 126:5-‬6 TPT

Good morning fellow disciples.

It is said that these verses refer to a farmer who goes out to sew seeds for a crop, but he or she does it tearfully because these seeds may be the last that he/she has. The farmer is tearful because while he is thinking about the possible harvest he is worried that his family at home remains hungry because there is no food to feed them.

This is in stark contrast to how he behaves when he sees the bountiful harvest that is reaped because of his sacrifice. He can now feed his family and even give to others. Oh what a blessing it is to gain such a bountiful harvest from such tear filled work !

As a disciple of Christ Jesus, have you been or are you in a position where you have witnessed, taught, preached or evangelized in tears? Have you sought souls while weeping for them to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and savior? Have you been praying so intensely for others that you weep and weep? Sometimes it seems as if the sacrifice we make to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ is just too much. Sometimes we see no change in the persons whom we spend our time ministering to.

But, like a seed planted sometimes it takes a while to see change or growth. Don’t give up ! We plant, we water but it is God who gives the increase. At harvest time we will return with joyful laughter and shouting with gladness as we bring back armloads of blessing and a harvest overflowing!

As we continue to spread the gospel, in time we will see souls won, souls changed, and we will see the blessings that is evident in the lives of our fellow disciples and their families.

Prayer : Father God, I will sow my tears as seeds and I will reap a harvest with joyful shouts of glee. I may weep as I go out carrying my seed to sow, but I will return with joyful laughter and shouting with gladness as I bring back armloads of blessing and a harvest overflowing!

No matter how difficult it may be Lord, I will daily seek to make disciples for You. I will give of my all as I live in full surrender to You Father God. Help me to never lose sight of the harvest of souls that will come from the tearful struggles to teach and exemplify all that You told us to. This, I ask in Jesus’ Name, amen.
