“See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.” (1 John 3:1)
Good morning fellow disciples.
Son: a man regarded as the product of a particular person, influence, or environment.
“Son of” is also used metaphorically to identify one’s nature or a personality trait, for example Jesus is called the “Son of God,” a title communicating His divine nature.
Righteousness: acting in accord with divine or moral law: free from guilt or sin.
As God’s children we are designated as ‘sons of righteousness.’ Our nature and character should be that of righteousness. We must live according to God’s divine law, and live free from sin and guilt. Remember that this righteousness is graciously imputed to us.
Do you understand how blessed we are to be sons of God?
The love of our Heavenly Father is beyond our understanding. That He would call us His own children is a testament to His incredible grace and mercy. May we respond to this love with worship, obedience, and a deeper commitment to living as His sons and daughters.
Prayer: Father God, I will live righteously in Your sight for all eternity! Amen.
