Acts of the Apostles 4:36-37 NLT -For instance, there was Joseph, the one the apostles nicknamed Barnabas (which means “Son of Encouragement”). He was from the tribe of Levi and came from the island of Cyprus. He sold a field he owned and brought the money to the apostles.
Good morning fellow disciples.
As sons of God, we are called to be encouragers to one another. Just as Barnabas, the “son of encouragement,” lifted up and supported the early believers, we too are to build up our brothers and sisters in the faith.
Barnabas encouraged the early Church with his generosity. He encouraged Paul by going for him to assist him in ministry. He encouraged John Mark, Silas, and countless many others.
Are you a Barnabas? Are you a son of encouragement?
May we speak words of life, offer hope in times of discouragement, and spur one another on towards spiritual growth and maturity.
Prayer: Father God, I will be a son of encouragement! Amen.
