At once the angel was joined by a huge angelic choir singing God’s praises: Glory to God in the heavenly heights, Peace to all men and women on earth who please him.
Luke 2:13-14 MSG
Good morning fellow disciples.
The majority of times that we see people encountering angelic messengers in the Bible, they fall onto their knees in fear.
In this case the message was that the Messiah had been born. This message was given to the shepherds in Bethlehem. What did the angel do after delivering this message? He began to sing and he was accompanied by other angels.
I believe this is the only place that it’s mentioned in the Bible that angels sang on earth. Elsewhere in prophetic revelations we see them singing in heaven, but only once on earth. What does this say to us?
God’s holy messengers are sent to minister alongside us here on earth. If they are singing praises to God, we should be singing praises to God!
If these beings who see God face to face, and have been with Him all their creative lives are singing praises to God, then so should we when we become disciples of Christ .
Let us sing along with the angels!
Prayer: “Angels we have heard on high,
Sweetly singing o’er the plains,
And the mountains in reply,
Echoing their joyous strains.”
Father God, We join with Your Holy Angels to honor You, glorify You, and praise You. Accept our worship, I pray, amen.
