John 1:8 NLT – John himself was not the light; he was simply a witness to tell about the light.
Good morning fellow disciples.
John the Baptist was greatly admired by the Jewish people. Many of them thought that he was the promised Messiah and they asked him if he was. Even though he was very popular he knew that he was not the Messiah, and that his role was to point people to the coming Messiah.
John knew that he was just simply a witness to tell others about Jesus. John fulfilled his role admirably!
How about you? Are you simply being a witness who is telling people about Jesus?
Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are the light of the world, the true light, who gives light to everyone. Like John the Baptist, we will continually tell the world about You. As we witness to others may they come to know You as Lord and Savior. Amen
