James 4:8 NLT- Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.
Good morning fellow disciples.
The greatest place to be is in the presence of God. The best relationship to be in is a relationship with God Almighty. So how do you go about having this great relationship with God?
You need to seek fellowship with him!
James 4:8 tells us to come close to God and He will come close to us. Do you notice it? You must come close to God first and then He will approach you also. We don’t place all the emphasis on God to do everything.
We need to make the decision and make the effort to have fellowship with God. We need to be fully committed to our relationship with God, therefore, we need to stop sinning and we need to redirect our focus off the world and place it fully on God.
Prayer: Father God, I have proved it repeatedly. Each time I draw close to You, You draw close to me. Our fellowship becomes even greater and deeper. But there are times when I have also sought what the world has to offer, and in those times my fellowship with You is compromised. I have been double minded.
It is when I confess my sin and repent and seek You once again that I find joy in Your presence. Help me, Lord, to continuously seek You so that I will forever be in Your presence. I no longer want to divide my loyalty between You and the world. I will seek You with my whole heart so that I can live forever in Your presence. Amen.
