Acts of the Apostles 9:17 NLT – So Ananias went and found Saul. He laid his hands on him and said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road, has sent me so that you might regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
Good morning fellow disciples.
When Saul encountered the Lord on the road to Damascus, he was struck with blindness. Afterwards, he spent three days in fasting and prayer and got a vision that a man named Ananias would come and lay his hands on him so that he could receive his sight again.
The Lord also appeared to Ananias in a vision and told him to go to Saul and to lay his hands on him so that he could receive his sight. When he found Saul, he told him that he had been sent so that he may regain his sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit. He laid his hands on him, and he regained his sight.
Afterwards, Saul got up and was baptized. Did Saul receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit when he was touched by Ananias? Did he receive the Holy Spirit after he was baptized in water or at the same time he was baptized in water? The scripture does not say.
What we do know is that Ananias was sent to him so that he could receive the Holy Spirit.
Have you ever been sent by God to someone so that they could receive the Holy Spirit? Did you Obey God? Did the person receive the Holy Spirit?
Prayer: Father God, help me to be like Saul, who fasted and prayed until You showed up mightily in his life. Help me to be like Ananias, who obeyed You, and because of his obedience Saul received not only sight but was filled with Your Holy Spirit. Amen.
