“Don’t be alarmed,” he told them. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has been resurrected! He is not here! See the place where they put Him.
Mark 16:6 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
I can see that you are alarmed, scared and, amazed because you do not see what you’re looking for. You don’t understand what is happening, and you can’t comprehend the reality that is!
Just keep on listening. All will be revealed!
They were looking for a dead body. But here is the news that they were given:
He has been resurrected!
He is not here! See the place where they put Him.
Not only were they told what had happened, but they were also invited to examine the place to see where He had been.
It would have been clear to see that Jesus wasn’t there. They heard what the angel said, but did they believe at that moment?
Sometimes it takes a while for us to come to the realization of what truly has happened when we are in an excited state.
What would you be thinking and what would you have believed if you were one of these women hearing this story?
Prayer: Father God, help us not to be alarmed when we don’t see or get what we expect. Help us to see what You want us to see and help us to accept Your unexpected ‘gift’ to us. Amen.
Sometimes it takes a mountain, a troubled sea., a large stone, an empty tomb or whatever to get our attention on what Jesus did for mankind
