Reshaped

Jeremiah 18:5-6 NLT “Then the Lord gave me this message:  “O Israel, can I not do to you as this potter has done to his clay? As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand.”

Good morning, fellow disciples.

God spoke to Jeremiah the prophet many times. On this occasion, God gave him this direction:

The Lord gave another message to Jeremiah. He said, “Go down to the potter’s shop, and I will speak to you there.” So, I did as he told me and found the potter working at his wheel.  But the jar he was making did not turn out as he had hoped, so he crushed it into a lump of clay again and started over.  Jeremiah 18:1-4 NLT

God could have simply told Jeremiah this, but God gave him directions to go and see what was happening in the potter’s house. Jeremiah obeyed God. He saw the Potter change what was being made into something new. Then he was able to receive the message that God wanted him to give to Israel.

God loves you the way that He loves Israel. God has plans and purposes for our lives, however, we resist Him at times, and we don’t turn out the way that He wants us to. God is not willing to give up on us just because we sin, and we turn away from Him to do what we want to do. He is willing to remold us and reshape us into something new and better.

Will you be like clay in God’s hands?

Will you allow Him to remold you into what He wants you to be?

Sometimes we think that we are almost at that point of perfection, but when God looks at us, He sees something wrong. It is then that He has to crush us and start the process again. Will you allow Him to do that?

Prayer: Father God, I am clay in Your hands. Mold me into who You want me to be. Amen.
