When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out, “Son of David, Jesus, have mercy on me! ”
Mark 10:47 HCSB

Good morning fellow disciples.

When the blind man by the name of Bartimaeus realized who was passing by he got excited. He got excited because he knew the reputation of the man who was passing by. This man was Jesus the Nazarene, the prophet, the rabbi, the healer, the one who performed the great miracles, and the one who was the son of David.

Bartimaeus realized that if only he could get to Jesus then Jesus could heal him. He could not see Jesus, but what he could do was shout at the top of his lungs to get Jesus’ attention. Bartimaeus had the reputation of being a blind beggar, but he did not want to remain a beggar nor did he want to remain blind. So he cried out to the One with the reputation for changing persons lives.

What sort of reputation do you have? As a disciple of Christ do persons come to you expecting life-changing miracles? Do they come to you with the expectation that your prayers will be answered? Do they come to you looking for explanation of the Word of God? Do you have the reputation of being Christ-like?

If your reputation is not like that of a true disciple of Christ, it’s not too late to change.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, You have the greatest reputation ever. As your disciple I want to be just like You, so right now I surrender and submit my entire life to You. I repent of my sins and I ask You to fill me with Your Holy Spirit.
Use me to proclaim Your kingdom here on Earth, and as Your word says let signs and wonders follow my witness of You. Heal, save, and deliver those that I proclaim Your word to. Amen.
