“For if you forgive people their wrongdoing, your heavenly Father will forgive you as well. But if you don’t forgive people, your Father will not forgive your wrongdoing.
Matthew 6:14-15 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
What a marvelous way to end the year?
1. On our knees in repentance and forgiving other persons, and
2. On our knees, in repentance and receiving forgiveness from God.
As we look forward to 2022, it is with humility that we seek our God who has brought us through this year. He has been constant in our lives, even when we didn’t acknowledge or recognize it.
He has forgiven us every time we have repented of our sins. He will forgive us again as we go on our knees and ask forgiveness. On this last day of 2021, as we seek His forgiveness, may we look to our fellow humans and extend forgiveness to them also.
Even if they don’t come to us asking us to forgive them, if we know that they have wronged us. Let us pay it forward and just forgive them. Remember Jesus said that if we don’t forgive others, God won’t forgive us, so let us wipe the slate clean. Forgive others and be forgiven!
Prayer: ‘Our Beloved Father, dwelling in the heavenly realms, may the glory of your name be the center on which our lives turn.
Manifest your kingdom realm, and cause your every purpose to be fulfilled on earth, just as it is in heaven.
We acknowledge you as our Provider of all we need each day.
Forgive us the wrongs we have done as we ourselves release forgiveness to those who have wronged us.
Rescue us every time we face tribulation and set us free from evil. For you are the King who rules with power and glory forever. Amen.’
