Scripture : ‘Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.’ Acts 2:38 KJV
Insight : After Jesus’ death, resurrection, and return to heaven the disciples while waiting in an upper room received the gift of the Holy spirit. This was told to them by Jesus before he went back to heaven. Upon receiving this gift Peter proclaimed to the unsaved that were present to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and receive the gift of the Holy spirit. Repentance was, and still is important in the process of accepting Christ as Lord and Savior, as is baptism. Repentance is being sorry for the sins we have committed and turning away from it. It is a cry that echoes even now and is never outdated. For sinners it is especially important so as to receive salvation from Christ. Are you willing to repent and receive Christ and the gift of the Holy Spirit in your life?
Prayer : Father God I come before you today asking for help. Help to repent and be baptized. I lay aside sin and follow after you so I may receive the gift of the salvation and the Holy Spirit into my life. Amen
