“When Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul was occupied with the word, testifying to the Jews that the Christ was Jesus.” – Acts 18:5 (ESV)
Good morning fellow disciples.
Acts 18:5 notes the significance of Timothy’s arrival in Corinth, along with Silas. Their presence seems to reignite and intensify Paul’s ministry. After their arrival, Paul was “occupied with the word, testifying to the Jews that the Christ was Jesus.” This passage underscores that even in challenging ministry situations, where doubt and discouragement can creep in, relationships and trust can help one in need of help.
As a disciple, you, too, can find yourself facing moments where your drive, energy, or effectiveness seem to wane. Timothy’s arrival reminds you that your presence and support can inject new life into others and that a strong support system of people can help you.
This week, consider those who have shown you this support and pray for them, as well as considering how you can be that for someone else. The support of your fellow men and women can be pivotal in helping you refocus on the path that God has chosen.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you for your provision of my fellow men and women. Guide me as I strive to follow your word and allow me to guide others in their quest to follow you as well. In your name, Amen.
